iRecords, a module of the iFIT solution suite, drives efficiencies within hospital Health Records services by deploying technology for faster tracking, storage and retrieval of patient records.
Implemented in Health Records departments in over 25 NHS Trusts and Health Boards across the UK, iRecords is an innovative tracking and file management solution that saves time and money. Operating via a network of mounted radio-frequency identification (RFID) sensors in corridors, wards and treatment areas throughout a hospital, iRecords enables trusts to detect and record the precise location of tagged case notes as they move around the site and main records library.
Records staff can identify the location of notes and then further refine searches, using handheld RFID mobile devices to locate sought-after items as they get closer to them, eliminating the risk of lost records. iRecords ensures that medical records are always complete, easily located and promptly delivered to patient clinics, helping hospitals to meet their Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) targets and addressing Care Quality Commission (CQC) issues.
iRecords can be used in a variety of ways to compliment an existing Electronic Patient Record (EPR) strategy by managing the physical documents throughout the scanning process in a controlled and audited way, or tracking the day forward folders through to digitisation.
"iFIT™ has been a transformational product for the records department. After just a week of live running we have three times as many people using the system over our old case notes tracking system and we do not have enough work for some of our records clerks."
