London Trust reports 12% clinic increase with Idox tracking technology

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) has commended Idox Health’s fast-tracking technology in a video that describes the transformation of its medical records department through digital.

During the four-minute interview, the Trust’s former IM & T Director Andrew Raynes, talks through the team’s investment in healthcare logistics management platform iFIT, which has been instrumental in accelerating the speed at which health records can be tracked and located – leading to a 12% increase in the number of clinics available.

With RFID sensors placed around the hospital, the solution has provided a more accurate, cost-effective way of managing over 1.2 million patient records, while helping to meet GS1 compliance and the Trust’s own cost improvement targets.

Andrew comments: “In the Trust’s improvement plan, it described it needed to do something about its health records management. We had in the region of 40% of records out of our main library at any one time and up to 10% of our clinics not having their health records.

“iFIT has meant we can ensure as much as 98% of our records get to the appointment on time – it’s been one of the major transformational projects in my career that’s delivered such tangible benefits.”
